Employers of Out-of-State Multistate Licensed (MSL) Nurses

If you are an employer of an out-of-state Multistate Licensed (MSL) nurse who is currently working in Washington state, the WA State Board of Nursing (WABON) asks that you complete the WA State Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Employer Compliance FormThe form now requires employers to submit an estimated end date for each nurse.

SSB 5499 requires certain employers to comply annually with the submission of demographic data. To find out which employers have these requirements, visit Multistate License (MSL) Information for Employers.

If you are a nurse with an out-of-state Multistate License (MSL) and are currently working in Washington state, WABON ask that you work with your employer so they comply with the requirement to have all out-of-state MSL Nurses complete the Washington State Multistate Nurse Demographic Data Survey every year. Feel free to voluntarily complete this survey if you are an out-of-state MSL nurse.
