WHCA-PAC

WHCA-PAC

One Voice. One Mission. A Stronger Future for Long-Term Care.

Washington’s long-term care providers are facing some of the toughest budget and policy pressures in more than a decade. State revenues are tightening. Competing priorities are crowding the legislative agenda. Regulatory expectations continue to rise—while the providers who care for Washington’s most vulnerable seniors navigate workforce shortages, rising costs, and mounting public scrutiny.

In this environment, having a unified, powerful voice in Olympia is not optional—it’s essential.

WHCA-PAC ensures that the people making decisions about Medicaid funding, workforce policy, and facility oversight clearly understand the realities you face. Strong engagement from members fuels strong advocacy. When our sector speaks with one voice, lawmakers take notice—and long-term care residents and caregivers benefit.

Why Your Support Matters Now

A strong WHCA-PAC means:

  • Stronger relationships with key legislators who shape funding and regulatory policy.
  • A seat at the table when budget decisions threaten quality care and provider stability.
  • Effective, credible representation that reflects the full strength of Washington’s long-term care community.
  • A unified front when the sector is under pressure.

Your contribution directly bolsters the advocacy strategy that protects Medicaid rates, strengthens workforce pathways, reduces unnecessary regulation, and helps ensure long-term care remains viable across Washington.

If you are a WHCA member and are interested in learning more about how you can support the PAC, please visit the PAC page in the Member Portal or contact Lauri St. Ours for more information.

Even in Tough Times—There Is Opportunity

While the budget outlook is challenging, the path forward is clear: strong, unified member engagement creates real impact. The more members who step up, the more effectively WHCA can drive solutions that support care quality, stabilize the workforce, and strengthen long-term care for residents across Washington.

The number of people who will require long-term care supports and services is staggering, and our work together, to ensure access to skilled nursing and assisted living care is critical.

Together, we can protect our sector’s future—and ensure long-term care has the powerful voice it deserves.

PAC FUNdraiser Events

WHCA-PAC holds a few fundraising events each year, usually in sync with WHCA’s Annual Convention and Fall Conference. These events offer fun opportunities for providers and associate business members to connect and let loose, such as the Bowl-a-Rama or the Fall Golf Invitational, while supporting the advocacy work of the PAC. Fundraising support for these events is largely provided through sponsorships, and may include perks such as logo recognition or included tickets in appreciation.
