Assisted Living Quality and Regulatory Executive Advisory Committee meets in-person during Annual Convention in May and Fall Conference in September, and as needed via conference call. The committee serves as an advisory panel to the WHCA CEO on all things regulatory and quality within the assisted living profession and community. The committee also promotes the nationally-acclaimed Quality Initiatives and Baldrige Quality Awards programs sponsored by our national affiliate, National Center for Assisted Living. The committee is co-chaired by Glenna Wickett of Brookdale and Asher Davison of Noble Healthcare, and supported by Vicki McNealley, Director of Assisted Living for WHCA.
Assisted Living Reimbursement Committee meets as needed throughout the year to develop recommendations regarding assisted living Medicaid payment policy and practices. The committee works together to promote legislation and policy change for assisted living providers. The committee is chaired by Zack Wester of Noble Healthcare, and staffed by Lauri St. Ours, WHCA Executive Vice President for Governmental Relations.
Group Retrospective Rating Program Committee (GRRP) meets bi-monthly and reviews the work of WHCA’s third party administrator and monitors individual facility claim losses. The committee also works to recommend safety products and services and to develop safety-related training programs for facilities. Voting is limited to participating members of the GRRP program. The committee is currently chaired by Carol Ann Andrews, Administrator at Crestwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, and staffed by Angela Ewing, WHCA Operations Manager.
Member Services Committee meets on a quarterly basis on matters of interest to the relationship between providers and associate business members of WHCA. The purpose of the committee is twofold: 1) To gather feedback from WHCA Associate Business (AB) members from a variety of disciplines, and 2) to provide an opportunity for collaboration and exchange of ideas, concerns, and insight to benefit WHCA AB members, provider members, and WHCA leaders. The committee is staffed by Angela Ewing, WHCA Operations Manager.
Skilled Nursing Facility Quality and Regulatory Executive Advisory Committee meets generally four times virtually throughout the year and as needed. The committee serves as an advisory panel to the WHCA CEO on all things regulatory and quality within the skilled nursing profession and community. The committee also promotes the nationally-acclaimed Quality Initiatives and Baldrige Quality Awards programs sponsored by our national affiliate, American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living. The committee is chaired by Nancy Butner, Northwest Division Vice President for Life Care Centers of America, and supported by Elena Madrid, Executive Vice President for Regulatory Affairs.
Skilled Nursing Facility Reimbursement Committee meets as needed and focuses on cost reimbursement for skilled nursing facilities in Washington. The committee works together to promote legislation and policy change for better funding in long term care. The committee is chaired by Amy Seils, Director of Reimbursement for Cascadia Healthcare, and co-chaired by Andrew Rapp, Chief Financial Officer at Regency Pacific Management, and staffed by Eric Negomir, Government Relations Manager, and Lauri St. Ours, Executive Vice President of Communications and Government Relations.
WHCA-PAC Committee exists to support those elected officials who make policy and fiscal decisions supporting skilled nursing and assisted living care for Washington Citizens. The WHCA-PAC includes the WHCA CEO, two skilled nursing facility representatives, two assisted living facility representatives, and two representatives-at-large. The WHCA-PAC members are selected by the WHCA Board of Directors, based on the recommendations of a PAC nominations committee. The WHCA-PAC generally meets two to three times per year to review candidate/legislator positions on priority issues for skilled nursing and assisted living providers. The committee is chaired by Lee Field, CEO of Senior Services of America and staffed by Lauri St. Ours, WHCA Executive Vice President for Government Relations.
