Jerry Reilly – In Memoriam

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Jerry Reilly, former WHCA executive director.

Jerry Reilly, 81, of Olympia, Washington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Born on March 18, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jerry was the son of Agnes C. Wogan and James H. Reilly.

He graduated from Cardinal Doughtery High School in 1962 and earned his degree in Political Science from LaSalle College, graduated cum laude, and later attained a master’s degree in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School. Jerry dedicated over 40 years in the public health and advocacy sector, serving as the Assistant Director of Finance at the New Jersey Department of Higher Education, Director of Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid), Medicaid Director for the State of Washington, Executive Director of the Washington Healthcare Association, and as a Public Policy Advocate for long term healthcare.

Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Marianne Archibald, in 1966 at St. Helena’s Church in Philadelphia. Together, they raised four children in Willingboro, New Jersey and then moved to Olympia, Washington in 1981.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne; his children, Gerald Reilly, Jonathan Reilly, Stephen Reilly, and Michael Reilly; his grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, Vansica, Veronica, Vincent, Vienna, Veleia, Jaymes, Alexandera, Nicholas, Duncan, and great grandchild, David. And his older sister, Pat Hutchinson.

Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Jim Reilly.
