Grassroots Update: Lunch and Learn | 2026 Legislative Advocacy Training

December and early January is a critical period of time where WHCA works to ensure our members are prepared, informed, and actively advocating for policy and budget decisions that are favorable to long-term care. Equally as important is our work to address harmful proposals that drive costs, create additional barriers, or drive unnecessary regulatory burden. Our united voice has never been as important as we face threats to Medicaid funding that are necessary to fuel quality care and services.

We invite any WHCA member who is interested to join us during our virtual Lunch and Learn: 2026 Legislative Advocacy Training on Jan. 7th from 12:30-1:00 PST. Come learn what it takes to make local stories big and keep the voice of long-term care strong. Register now.

We anticipate the release of Governor Ferguson’s proposed 2026 supplemental budget soon. This supplemental plan will determine state spending from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. We are asking the Legislature to protect funding investments made by the 2025 Legislature and are working to help policymakers understand how their decisions directly impact Washington’s most vulnerable populations.

This is your opportunity to elevate your voice and support quality long-term care by testifying powerfully in upcoming Legislative Committee hearings.
