Board of Nursing Home Administrators Survey

The Board of Nursing Home Administrators (BNHA) at the Department of Health has recently launched an official survey to help streamline participation in the Administrator Residency (AR) Program. Administrator Residents—formerly known as Administrators-in-Training (AITs)—are finding it increasingly difficult to identify sponsoring companies and preceptors willing and able to support AR placements in Washington.

This trend runs counter to the intent of the program, which highlights the value of allowing AR participants to rotate across facilities during their tenure. Limited participation reduces the range of training environments available and restricts opportunities for ARs to gain firsthand experience with varying care models, service levels, and operational practices. These constraints ultimately diminish the program’s capacity to enrich learning and provide meaningful context for future administrators.

If you are willing to participate as a preceptor, please consider completing the survey: Survey. You may also scan the QR code below using a mobile device. After completing it, the Board will work with you to become a resource for training opportunities.

To service the needs of a growing older adult population, our administrators will need to have a wealth of experience across functions and backgrounds. Your support will help make this possible.
