Grassroots Update: The Big Picture of Care

This week, the 26th legislative district – home to Bremerton, Gig Harbor, and Port Angeles – welcomed Rep. Michelle Caldier for five facility tours which together showed the big picture of quality care provided in the region.

On her way, she took in diverse pain points and highlights across facilities and engaged with residents that have called the 26th home for a long time. She learned that scopes of care are unique and that no two challenges are felt equally across a community’s long-term care continuum. As a legislator, she had the opportunity to further her expertise in issues not always available from one or even two tours in a district.

A collaborative effort such as this deserves a big thank you. We appreciate all our members who made this possible. It also showed the power of presenting the bigger picture. If you have a facility you would like to collaborate with on a facility tour, let us know! Joint tours, administrator meetings, and multi-representative tours are good strategies for building a comprehensive understanding of your region’s highs and lows.
