RCS “Dear Provider” Letter Notifying Providers on Referrals to Labor and Industries for Respiratory Protection Program Citations

Residential Care Services (RCS) issued a Dear Provider Letter reminding providers of the need to have systems in place for standard and transmission-based precautions, including a written Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) for staff who are required to wear a fit-tested N95 mask in the workplace.

Of note, if the facility implements transmission-based or airborne precautions, RCS regulators will review your written RPP to assure compliance with the use of fit-tested N95 respirators.   If RCS determines the provider is not in compliance, RCS will cite under the infection control/prevention regulations and make a referral to Labor and Industries for RPP compliance issues. For more details, please see the Dear Provider Letter here.
