RCS “Dear Provider” Letter Reminding Providers to Consider Emergency Preparedness Relating to Flooding

In the flooded streets of the storm, municipal workers put reminders to prevent pedestrians from moving into the manhole.

DSHS has written a Dear Provider Letter guiding assisted living and skilled nursing facility providers on emergency preparedness considerations for flooding, here. The suggestions in the letter encourage providers to evaluate the facility’s risk of flooding, review insurance policies for flood damage coverage, and steps to prepare the facility, staff, and residents now.  FEMA is referenced for additional details, as are other incident-related preparation and response resources.
