Advocacy Training Opportunities
The 2026 Legislature will convene early in January, at WHCA we are working with focus to engage the long-term care community in powerful advocacy efforts by gathering voices from within long-term care. We seek your support by helping promote our company-specific legislative advocacy training sessions. We ask teams to join us for a 30-minute informal webinar and Q&A focused on advocacy strategies, opportunities, and civics education, designed to prepare us for the 2026 legislative session.
The 2026 session is scheduled for a 60-day session and is likely to test gains long-term care made in previous years. There will be new budget and policy challenges—and we cannot afford to be caught off guard. The stronger our community, the better positioned we are to help legislators understand why long-term care is so important. Hearing directly from those most affected turns the tide and brings lawmakers face-to-face with the people delivering care in every corner of our state.
From virtual and in-person meetings to email campaigns, there is a place for everyone in advocacy. These trainings will offer new opportunities for those who have yet to participate, while also serving as a refresher for the advocates who have powerfully communicated to legislators and the public about the need for sustainable, quality long term care.
Act now to help us strengthen an advocacy roster that continues to shape the future of long-term care for the better. Reach out to Aidan Swayne for information.
