Grassroots Update: Letter to the Governor

This week, WHCA is calling on our members to join our efforts to amplify a strong, unified voice for long-term care, and remind Governor Ferguson that our sector must be funded in his supplemental budget, which is set to arrive in December.

This supplemental release will serve as the budget roadmap and a key guide that both chambers of the Legislature will use to write, debate, and revise their own budgets during the 2026 session. As we’ve heard from House budget leaders, this supplemental will carry significant weight. Anything outside its scope will face heightened scrutiny, potential conflicts of interest, and even budget battles between the executive and legislative branches. We can’t let long-term care fall into that trap.

This is where you come in. We’re adding a letter to the Governor to the Action Center on our website, and with just a few clicks you can personalize your message and send a powerful message. Adding your own perspective gives depth and context to our advocacy, grounding funding issues in the real challenges you face as you deliver quality care. We anticipate the Economic Forecast to be released this afternoon, so watch your inbox tomorrow for the link to send your letter!

Seniors across Washington need your voice. Reach out to Aidan Swayne with any questions or concerns.
