Safety Net Increase Cancelled
In October, skilled nursing facility operators were informed by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) that an increase in the Safety Net Assessment (SNA) would go into effect on January 1, 2025. Since issuing notice of the increase in October, DSHS has continued to monitor and track additional data as it becomes available. On Thursday, we were informed that current projections indicate the Department is on track to meet the target SNA revenue with the current high fee of $29, and DSHS will not increase the assessment on January 1, as had previously been communicated.
