Proposed Federal Medicaid Cuts Demand Provider Action

The potential for crippling federal Medicaid cuts is driving WHCA’s work with AHCA and the Central Washington Families Coalition. Last week, WHCA EVP of Communications and Government Relations Lauri St. Ours joined representatives from Caldera and Hill Valley Health Care to traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with Republican members of the Washington Congressional Delegation to oppose federal Medicaid cuts. Representatives Dan Newhouse (R-4) and Michael Baumgartner (R-5) must understand the impact of potential cuts to the social safety net that supports Washington’s low-income who rely on this support. Here is a brief that details potential impacts to Washington State. We urge you to oppose federal Medicaid cuts, and, importantly, to take a stand about the importance of Medicaid funding during the AHCA Congressional Briefing scheduled for June 9-10 at the Capitol Hilton in Washington, D.C. WHCA Government Relations Manager Eric Negomir will coordinate Congressional appointments for our members, and will be present at the Briefing to support WHCA member advocacy. Please reach out to Eric directly if you would like attend.
