Grassroots Update: Advocacy Leadership Panel

This year at WHCA’s Annual Convention, the Government Relations team will be hosting an advocacy panel to showcase leadership in advocacy from among our members, and answer the hard-hitting questions about how we protect long-term care. Join us on May 18 at 1:00pm for this presentation.

“Activate & Advocate: Creating Change at Every Level” brings together facility leaders who have stepped into advocacy and gone above and beyond for their communities. They have testified, met with legislators, hosted tours, rallied their teams, and figured out how to speak up for long term care without losing focus on operations.

This will be a candid conversation about what made them hesitant, what actually worked, what felt worth the time, and what surprised them when they connected with elected officials. You will hear real examples from a facility perspective.

We will also get into how to make advocacy doable and how to bring staff along without overwhelming them.

If you are already engaged, this sharpens your approach. If you are new to it, this gives you a clear way in. WHCA looks forward to seeing you there. Come ready to learn what it takes to participate in advocacy at every level. Bring questions! Contact Aidan Swayne for more details.
