All skilled nursing facilities are required to report on annual influenza vaccination among healthcare personnel (HCP) by Monday, May 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PST to meet Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as required by the Skilled Nursing Facility Quality Reporting Program for the 2025-2026 influenza season. What is the deadline for submitting data?
- The reporting period for the 2025-2026 influenza season is October 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026. Facilities are only required to submit one report that covers the entire reporting period by May 18, 2026.
- Nursing homes that fail to report the required data by May 18th may lose 2% of their Medicare reimbursement for FY 2027.
How should facilities submit the data?
- Nursing homes must report annual influenza vaccination for HCP through the NHSN Healthcare Personnel Safety (HPS) Component.
