Health Workforce Survey Aims to Target Employer Workforce Needs

The Center for Health Workforce Studies at the University of Washington is seeking your input to help guide future decisions across the state about how to strengthen data resources for health workforce policy and planning. The workforce planning survey will help inform policymakers about the state of the workforce. This is an important opportunity to share your experiences.

What’s the Health Workforce Study About?
The Center for Health Workforce Studies is gathering input to describe the level of interest in a variety of questions commonly asked about the health workforce, such as the number of workers, where they’re needed most, and who they serve. Your insights will help us prioritize the questions and identify the data needed to answer them. Findings will be shared with the Washington Department of Health, who is funding this project, and in a publicly available report.

Why your input matters:
Your experience and perspective are essential to ensuring that workforce planning reflects real-world needs across education, practice, and policy. Please note – your responses are anonymous.

What you’ll do:
·         Review and rate the importance of a list of workforce-related planning questions
·         Suggest any additional high-priority questions you think should be considered
·         Indicate how often you access health workforce data and related information, and future expectations

Benefits of participating:
·         Influence statewide health workforce planning
·         Ensure your community’s needs are reflected in future data efforts
·         Help identify gaps in current health workforce data

Keep in mind:
These questions are broad and meant to apply across all licensed or registered health occupations in Washington—including medical, behavioral health, oral health, public health, and long-term care. Your feedback will help refine and focus future data collection and analysis.
