Grassroots Update: A Few Flavors of Advocacy at Fall Conference

Advocacy is more than just legislative – educating regulators can be just as important and effective. At the 2023 IHCA/WHCA Fall Conference, attendees submitted comments to CMS on the SNF mandatory staffing rule that would imperil Washington seniors’ access to skilled nursing care. Letting CMS know why this punitive one size fits all rule won’t work for Washington is a critical component of your advocacy this fall.

We also saw great turnout for ‘Advocacy 101: Hosting Policymaker Tours’, where numerous Washington administrators committed to hosting a legislator tour in their facility. Join these leaders in advocacy by following the steps in our toolkit, and by reaching out to Eric Negomir on the WHCA team with any questions.
