Become a Nursing Home Administrator Preceptor

The Board of Nursing Administrators is committed to making it easy for you to become a preceptor. Their team offers resources for training and will support you in becoming certified through the National Association of Long Term Care Administrators Board’s preceptor leadership course. This is a unique, specialized continuing education opportunity for administrators as they uplift the next generation of leaders in long-term care. Being able to showcase your expertise during the short time the AR is in your building will be instrumental in generating sustainability in the long-term care workforce as the scope of work in skilled nursing continues to evolve.

If you are willing to participate as a preceptor, or would like to sign up to receive more information about the opportunity, please complete this form: Nursing Home Administrator Preceptor List.

Administrator Residents, formerly known as Administrators-in-Training (AITs), continue to find it increasingly difficult to identify sponsoring companies and preceptors willing and able to support AR placements in Washington.

This makes it difficult to uphold the value of the program which comes from allowing participating ARs to rotate across facilities during their tenure. Limited participation reduces the range of training environments available and restricts opportunities for ARs to gain firsthand experience with varying care models, service levels, and operating practices. These constraints ultimately diminish the program’s capacity to enrich learning and provide meaningful context for future administrators.

To service the needs of a growing older adult population, our administrators will need to have a wealth of experience across functions and backgrounds. Your support will help make this possible. If you have any questions, reach out to Aidan Swayne.
