Join the Skilled Nursing Facility Antimicrobial Stewardship (SNF AMS) Collaborative

Enhance your antimicrobial stewardship expertise and skills by joining the WA Department of Health’s Skilled Nursing Facility AMS Collaborative. Benefits of participation include improved survey readiness and antibiotic usage. The collaborative will run from September 2026 – May 2027.

Sessions will be held at 12:00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month. The 1-hour session will focus on implementation of best practices for antimicrobial stewardship and quality improvement tools, with time for Q&As. DOH experts can offer personalized support through office hours. Session topics will include the following & more:

  • Asymptomatic Bacteriuria (ASB) vs. Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
  • Appropriateness Criteria for UTIs, Pneumonia, and Skin & Soft Tissue Infections
  • Implementation of Antibiotic Timeouts
  • Antibiotic Use Tracking & Reporting
  • Bugs and Drugs Common in the Long-Term Care Environment
  • Interpreting an Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing Report
