Federal Staffing Proposal Threatens Seniors’ Access to Care

In September, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released proposed skilled nursing facility (SNF) staffing requirements for all U.S. care centers. The proposed rules were expected. During the AHCA Congressional conference in June, WHCA’s advocacy team and Washington providers joined colleagues from throughout the nation to caution members of Congress about unrealistic staffing standards that further threaten care access and quality.

WHCA continues to partner with AHCA to mount a vigorous response to the proposal. Special thanks to those who have already provided CMS with feedback about the proposal, but our work is far from complete. WHCA will continue to drive comments from our members to CMS.
