Home Care Aide Applications and Nursing Assistant Bridge Programs

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) will no longer expedite home care aide certification applications for individuals who are enrolled in an approved nursing assistant bridge program.

This change is due to a significant increase in the number of applicant and employer requests for expedited processing due to applicant enrollment in a nursing assistant bridge program. Moving forward, all applications will be reviewed and processed in the order they are received or by the applicant’s date of hire.

If you are enrolled in a nursing assistant bridge program, you may still apply for home care aide certification as usual. However, your application will be prioritized by the date of hire or the application receipt date.
