Washington Health Care Association (WHCA) is a nonprofit trade association representing a proud coalition of assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, and businesses that support long-term care in Washington State. Through education, advocacy, and regulatory support, we strive to ensure that every Washingtonian has access to the high quality long-term care they need.
We are honored to have the opportunity to serve Washington’s dedicated long-term care workforce. The individuals employed by our member facilities – the administrators, nurses, caregivers, and support staff – spend their days caring for our state’s most vulnerable residents, and they deserve the resources and support they need to do their jobs well. With the ever-increasing cost of providing healthcare, our provider members rely on WHCA to help them navigate regulatory challenges, avoid expensive fines, and secure the funding they need to properly staff their facilities.
2025 marks WHCA’s 40th Anniversary year. We are grateful to our members and friends who have supported us and our work, and look forward to continuing to serve you.
WHCA Works With Our Members
Approximately 72% of all assisted living communities and 78% of all skilled nursing facilities in the state are members of WHCA, which means there are more than 43,000 long-term care residents served by our member facilities. We also boast more than one hundred associate business members who provide crucial services to our long-term care providers, and support our education and events through sponsorships.
WHCA’s members are actively engaged in the association. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors and in member committees, many share their expertise and insights at our education events. Last year, our grassroots network joined WHCA in completing more than 4,500 advocacy actions, such as attending legislative meetings, submitting testimony or comments, hosting facility tours, and publishing powerful opinion pieces.
