WHCA Excellence in Service Awards
Nominations Due by April 2, 2024
You are invited to nominate individuals who are employed by a WHCA member assisted living or skilled nursing facility who maintain a high standard of excellence and provide exceptional quality care. Award recipients represent the best of Washington’s long-term care community and will receive a complimentary registration to the annual WHCA convention, where they will be honored during the awards luncheon May 21st.
Awards will be given in the following categories:
Assisted Living Awards
AL Administrator of the YearRecognizes an assisted living administrator or executive director who demonstrates outstanding innovation, achievement, and capabilities in their provision of high-quality person-centered care in a service-oriented culture in an assisted living community.
To be eligible for consideration, an individual nominated must be employed at an assisted living community that is a member in good standing with WHCA at the time of the nomination. All nomination forms received will be verified with WHCA to ensure that all nominees are members in good standing.
All materials, essays and photos submitted become the property of WHCA and may be used in its publications and website. Submitted materials will not be returned to applicants.
All incomplete nominations will be disqualified.
Recognizes an assisted living nurse (must be a licensed practical or registered nurse) who demonstrates outstanding compassion, supervisory success, innovation, achievement, and capabilities in their provision of high-quality person-centered care in a service-oriented culture in an assisted living community.
To be eligible for consideration, an individual nominated must be employed at an assisted living community that is a member in good standing with WHCA at the time of the nomination. All nomination forms received will be verified with WHCA to ensure that all nominees are members in good standing.
All materials, essays and photos submitted become the property of WHCA and may be used in its publications and website. Submitted materials will not be returned to applicants.

Recognizes frontline caregivers for their contributions that lead to improved quality of life for the residents and create a better work environment for the assisted living community’s staff. This includes direct care staff from the wellness department (does not include licensed nurses).
To be eligible for consideration, an individual nominated must be employed at an assisted living community that is a member in good standing with WHCA at the time of the nomination. All nomination forms received will be verified with WHCA to ensure that all nominees are members in good standing.
All materials, essays and photos submitted become the property of WHCA and may be used in its publications and website. Submitted materials will not be returned to applicants.

Recognizes staff for their contributions that lead to improved quality of life for the residents and create a better work environment for the assisted living community’s staff. This includes, but is not limited to support/office staff, housekeeping, dietary, activities/recreation, laundry, and maintenance departments (excludes caregivers and nurses).
To be eligible for consideration, an individual nominated must be employed at an assisted living community that is a member in good standing with WHCA at the time of the nomination. All nomination forms received will be verified with WHCA to ensure that all nominees are members in good standing.

Skilled Nursing Awards
SNF Administrator of the YearRecognizes a skilled nursing facility administrator who demonstrates outstanding innovation, achievement, and capabilities in their provision of high-quality, person-centered care in a service-oriented culture in a skilled nursing facility.
To be eligible for consideration, an individual nominated must be employed at a skilled nursing facility that is a member in good standing with WHCA at the time of the nomination. All nomination forms received will be verified with WHCA to ensure that all nominees are members in good standing.

General Rules and Guidelines:
All applications must be submitted through the form below no later than 5:00pm on March 22, 2024. Please note that WHCA reserves the right to extend the deadline.
The nominee must be a current employee of a WHCA member facility, and be able to attend the WHCA annual convention Awards Luncheon on May 21, 2024 in Spokane.

WHCA reserves the right not to name a winner for any award category if fewer than 10 nominations are submitted, or if applicants do not meet award eligibility criteria.
Previous winners of any category are not eligible to win the same award more than twice, and are not eligible to win in consecutive years.
Only one award will be granted per facility per category.
The winner(s) will be selected and notified by WHCA. The awards will be presented at WHCA’s annual Awards Luncheon on May 21, 2024 at The Davenport Grand Hotel in Spokane as part of the WHCA Convention & Expo.
