The Department of Health is implementing a new credentialing system in April, and it will impact home care aide candidates.
Beginning in April 2025, the Department of Health will be launching its new credentialing system, HELMS. For those who have a deadline in April 2025, to become certified, it is important that you complete all necessary credentialing requirements by that date to avoid having to stop working.
As the new system is implemented, please anticipate possible delays in credentialing. It’s recommended to give yourself plenty of time to complete your application and exams before the deadline.
