Who is Your Field Manager?
Every assisted living and skilled nursing facility has a dedicated staff person at DSHS’s Residential Care Services (RCS) who oversees the licensing/survey teams. If you are new in your leadership role in your facility or company, or you have not yet met your field manager, it is important you do so. Forming a foundational relationship now can make it easy with connecting later. A simple email, introducing yourself and your role, will help in developing this professional connection. Contact your field manager when/if you have issues with a survey or complaint investigation visit, specific to interpretation of regulations or any concerns with the RCS staff person’s actions or inactions. Should you have difficulty connecting with the field manager, the field service administrator is a great next step, followed by the regional administrator.
