Grassroots Update: The Proof is in the Pudding

Sometimes the payoff from grassroots advocacy isn’t immediately apparent. Today, it is. We just scored a massive legislative victory, and your engagement made it happen. Just before the deadline to pass bills out of the House Healthcare Committee, a planned vote on HB 1859 has been cancelled. This highly problematic legislation will go no further this session.

Whether you’re one of the 1,750 people who registered their opposition to the bill, the dozens who messaged their lawmakers, or the few who testified before the Committee about the dangers of a 90-day appeal window, your contribution made a difference.

Remember: When you speak, lawmakers listen. WHCA is here to make sure they hear you.
