Grassroots Update: Thank You to Our Advocates

This is a thankful time of year—full of reflection and appreciation for those who help us uplift people both at home and beyond. At WHCA, we extend that gratitude to you, our advocates. Time and again, you have stepped up, lending your minutes, your energy, and your passion to our grassroots efforts. From electronic letters to hosting high-quality, engaging legislator tours, we applaud you.

This interim, more than 30 tours took place. That means 30+ unique opportunities to leave a lasting impression on lawmakers from across Washington’s diverse political districts. These experiences shape legislative decisions and help protect long-term care by building champions in both chambers of the Legislature.

Our Pre-Session Survey was another success, and it will play an instrumental role in guiding our messaging and data-driven advocacy. Thank you to the 100+ buildings that completed it. Keep an eye out for our gift card drawing soon!

In recent weeks, we also mounted an electronic advocacy campaign reminding the Governor of his commitment to long-term care. As we approach a critical moment in budget deliberations, we hope your collective voice lands on his desk with impact. It is imperative that the Governor and the Legislature hold the line on allocated monies for SNF and AL rebases and assisted living bridge funding.

If you’d like to get involved across the full spectrum of advocacy opportunities, please reach out to Aidan Swayne, who is happy to share more information. Thank you!
