Washington PASRR Level I Form Updated

WHCA has been notified by the Health Care Authority (HCA) that the Washington PASRR (pre-admission screening and resident review) Level 1 form has been updated and will be released on 6/13/2025. Updates include the following:

Section 1 – Serious Mental Illness (SMI) – Intellectual Disability (ID) or Related Condition (RC) Determination

This section has been extensively clarified to include ‘known or suspected’ indicators for SMI, as well as simplification of what constitutes as a functional limitation.  Additionally, questions related to ID/RC have been simplified to indicate which questions to address and when. Lastly, new indicators have been added to identify when this form should be forwarded for further review to Washington’s SMI and DDA/ID/RC PASRR Teams, eliminating the guesswork of if a referral is or isn’t needed.
