WHCA-PAC: “For the Future” of Long-Term Care

The WHCA-PAC is the unifying voice for Washington’s assisted living and skilled nursing facilities when appealing to our state’s lawmakers. We would like to offer special thanks to our members who have committed to supporting the WHCA-PAC so far this year, as your contributions make it possible for that voice to be heard.

Over the past several years, our members’ support of the WHCA-PAC has enabled us to successfully advocate for Medicaid rate increases and bridge funding, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars for assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. On the policy front, we have defended against policy proposals that would drive additional administrative costs and operational barriers, including legislation that would have extended federal nursing facility regulations to assisted living facilities. At the same time, we are working to eliminate barriers to licensing and certification for the long-term care workforce.

The reputation and relationships that WHCA-PAC has built in Olympia allow us to leverage WHCA-PAC contributions into meaningful relationships that help keep sector issues at the forefront. Through WHCA-PAC, we support candidates who have influence over the workforce and regulatory policies that affect assisted living and skilled nursing facilities operations and resident care. Your support helps build relationships so that policymakers understand the importance of your work in communities throughout Washington.

Your contributions have helped WHCA-PAC keep long-term care visible in a crowded political landscape, and shaped Washington’s system into one of the highest rated in the nation.

At the WHCA Annual Convention in May, we launched the WHCA-PAC For the Future campaign, which invited our members to commit an annual donation for each facility. The early response has exceeded our expectations.
