Board of Nursing Home Administrators Seeks Applicants
The Department of Health is looking to fill two vacancies on the Board of Nursing Home Administrators. One position is to be filled by a nursing home administrator. One position is to be filled by a health professional who works in the long-term care setting or a health care educator who is familiar with long-term care.
The requirements for board member positions are set by law as follows:
Nursing Home Administrator:
- You must currently be licensed as a nursing home administrator in Washington State.
- You must have at least four years actual experience in the administration of a licensed nursing home in Washington state.
- At least one, but not more than two, of the six administrator members shall be an administrator of an assisted living facility or a continuing care retirement community (CCRC).
Licensed Health Care Professional, Educator, or Professional in Long-Term Care Field:
- You must be a licensed health care professional providing medical or nursing services in nursing homes and not be self-employed; or
- Faculty or administrator of an educational institution who has special knowledge of health care education, long-term care, or care of the aged or elderly; or
- An individual who is currently employed in an area related to the long-term care field which may include pharmacy, home health, adult family home or therapy services.
