Grassroots Update: Post Primaries – What’s Next?

Yesterday, Washingtonians cast their vote for local, regional, and state officials, and important topical measures and propositions. Before ballot boxes were full, WHCA worked closely with our providers in the field to educate those running for election to the state Legislature about the importance of long-term care in their communities. These facility tours have been instrumental in showcasing the value our providers bring to continuums of care and the challenges they face in doing so.  

Though the primary election will paint a better picture of the legislative makeup for the year to come, our work is far from over. Facility tours, advocacy, education and much more lie ahead as the interim narrows towards the 2027 legislative session in Olympia. We will continue to need strong advocates in the field dedicated to showcasing their community, staff, and those they care for. This pushes forward our goal of building a sustainable, predictable future for skilled nursing and assisted living by elevating our industry.
