Grassroots Update: Finish the Job for Long-Term Care
With just 7 days left in the 2026 regular legislative session, WHCA is issuing its final call to action and asking for your immediate engagement. As the session narrows, we must urge the Legislature to reconcile the differences between the House and Senate budget proposals—each of which took strong, though different, steps to support the long-term care continuum. Join us in calling on budget leaders to finish the job and bring together the best of both worlds for skilled nursing and assisted living. Act NOW.
We also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has participated in our electronic advocacy this year. Over the past 53 days, WHCA members have rallied to send nearly 2,300 messages across campaigns. That’s almost 44 messages and nearly 10 new advocates every day. Thank you for taking a few minutes to respond each and every time we ask.
If you’re interested in taking your advocacy to the next level, consider calling the Legislative Hotline and leaving a message for your district legislators through their fast, easy system. It’s another simple way to ensure your voice is heard in Olympia. See this flyer for instructions and more information. As always, contact Aidan Swayne with questions— we stand ready to support you in advocacy.
