Gary Weeks
Executive Director
As Executive Director, Gary is responsible for overseeing
all aspects of operations of the Association. He works with the
Board of Directors to formulate the Association’s goals, objectives,
policies and procedures. He organizes and directs the staff in the
development and delivery of programs and activities that support the
Association and its members. Gary takes a proactive role in
relations with state officials, state legislators and local
government officials. He is the Association liaison to the American
Health Care Association and other local and national organizations
that support the work of the Association. With 35 years in public
service, Gary is recognized and respected by legislators, advocates,
consumers and public officials for his leadership experience in
social services and his specific commitment to high quality long
term care. |

Pam Donnelly
Administrative Assistant
Pam Donnelly joined the WHCA/WCAL team in January 2005 as
the Administrative Assistant on a full-time basis. Prior to that,
Pam worked part time for the WHCA/WCAL team providing clerical
support to our various departments as well as for Mark Reed Hospital
in McCleary, Washington. In her new role, Pam will be answering
inbound calls, providing chapter governor support, and distributing
general information to WHCA/WCAL members. |

Diana Hitchings
Comptroller
As Comptroller, Diana oversees the administration and
operations of the association's finances. She confers with the WHCA
Executive Committee in projecting the annual budget and supports the
executive director in matters pertaining to daily operations. Diana
is the lead staff for the Reimbursement, Group Retrospective Rating
Program and the Group Purchasing Committees. In addition, Diana
assists in the planning and promotion of WHCA-PAC fundraisers. She
also functions as the WHCA/WCAL office manager overseeing the
productivity and functions of the WHCA/WCAL support staff. |

Vicki Mcnealley
Director of Assisted Living
As Director of Assisted Living, Vicki is the lead staff contact for all assisted living facilities. She provides information and support to providers in the areas of regulation, legislation, education and operations. Vicki’s background in long term are, her experience as an inspector and licensor for the Department of Social and Health Services as well as her nursing degree make her a valuable asset to all of our assisted living members. Vicki is also the staff lead on the Education and Quality Improvement Committees and works closely with other staff and committees to promote assisted living and to provide essential information and updates to help our assisted living members provide the best quality care. |

Brenda Orffer
Event Designer
Brenda joined WHCA in 1994 and has worked in various
roles including that of Event Designer since January of 2003. Brenda
works with the Education Committee to plan educational conferences,
events and workshops throughout the year as well as with the
Convention Committee to plan and oversee WHCA's Annual Convention
and Exhibition. In addition, Brenda works with IlluminAge to
maintain the association website and publish the association's
monthly newsletter, The Intercom. Other areas of responsibility
include member liaison for Associate Business members, maintenance
of the association database, administrative support of the WHCA
board and coordinating the publication of the association's annual
directory. Recently, Brenda was elected to serve as Vice President
for the Long Term Care Meeting Professionals, a national group of
long term care meeting planners. |

Sally Schourup
Executive Assistant
As Executive Assistant, Sally provides
administrative support to the Executive Director, including calendar
management, scheduling meetings/appointments, and assistance with
special projects. Sally is the contact person for event
registrations and maintains attendance data for educational events.
She coordinates the distribution of communication and promotion
materials and tracks applicant information for the scholarship
program. |

Lauri St. Ours
Director of Regulatory and Governmental Affairs
As director of regulatory affairs, Lauri is responsible for
monitoring and oversight of regulatory issues for Washington
boarding homes and skilled nursing facilities. In addition to
working with the association Governmental Affairs and Reimbursement
Committees, Lauri is charged with supporting the legislative and
legal efforts of the association, and with working directly with
members to address and resolve regulatory compliance issues. With
more than 13 years of experience in the long term care arena in
Washington, Lauri is recognized and respected as a leading expert in
the regulatory issues impacting the delivery of long term care in
Washington skilled nursing facilities and boarding homes. |

Juanita Taurman
Accounts Supervisor
Juanita is responsible for accounts payable, accounts
receivable and various other accounting duties. Juanita also
maintains the financial records and PDC reporting for the WHCA-PAC,
assists with WHCA-PAC fundraising events and is the staff contact
person for WHCA-PAC. |

Natividad Valdez
Director of Marketing and Member Services
Natividad was most recently with the Washington
Department of Personnel, where she was responsible for the
development of legislation and lobbying for the department, as well
as providing human resources training and counseling to state
agencies. She has a law degree from Northeastern University in
Boston and is a member of the Washington Bar Association. She also
holds bachelor’s degree from Boston College with a major in
marketing. In recent years she has taught summer session courses in
human resource management at Evergreen State College. We feel very
fortunate to have an individual with her training and skills joining
the WHCA team. Natividad will focus on developing member services,
recruiting new members, consulting with members on human resource
questions and providing training and education in the area of human
resources. We encourage you to take advantage of her many years of
experience. |
