Spring MDS Training Courses

Spring is coming and there will be two separate Spring MDS training courses offered FREE for Washington State nursing home staff. All WA State homes have been sent a letter specific to the training site for their area. A copy of each of those letters is at the "Dear Administrator Letter" web page attached with driving directions to each site: http://www.aasa.dshs.wa.gov/professional/letters/nh/2008/ Following is a summary of the announcement:

First MDS Series

The first MDS series will be two days in length and cover the basic MDS coding, “The ABC’s of MDS”. This class is intended for staff new to the MDS process, those who have not attended any MDS training sessions or those staff who need a refresher. The course covers such topics as MDS assessment types, MDS item coding and significant change of status.

The session will be presented twice this spring. The session runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm both days on:

  • March 27 & 28 (Thursday and Friday) at RCS Headquarters Blake East Building 4500 10th Ave SE, Lacey in the Rose Room

  • May 28 & 29 at (Wednesday and Thursday) RCS Headquarters Blake East Building 4500 10th Ave SE, Lacey, in the Rose Room

Participates are encouraged to bring their RAI manuals to this course to use as a reference during the sessions.

Note: A map to the location is at http://www.adsa.dshs.wa.gov/Professional/RCS/Blake Map.doc.
