Assisted Living Reimbursement Committee
meets as needed and focuses on cost reimbursement for boarding homes in
Washington. The committee works together to promote legislation and
policy change for better funding in long-term care. The committee is
currently chaired by Lee Field of Senior Services of America and staffed
by Lauri St. Ours and Rich Miller.
Convention Committee This committee meets as needed beginning to
plan WHCA's annual convention. Members work with WHCA staff to develop
the education tracks, entertainment and activities and to promote
sponsor commitments for the various events held at convention. The
committee is co-chaired by Matt Fleming, Royal Park Care Center, and
John Tipton, Consonus Healthcare Services. Brenda Orffer staffs the committee.
Education Committee works to establish educational goals for the
association. This committee assesses educational demand so that WHCA can
offer quality events that meet the needs of our members. The committee
is currently co-chaired by Joan Souders, administrator of Sheffield
Manor and Vivian Currie, Lakewood Healthcare Center and staffed by Vicki
Anensen-McNealley and Brenda Orffer.
Group Retrospective Rating Program Committee meets monthly and
reviews the work of WHCA's third party administrator and monitors
individual facility claim losses. The committee also works to recommend
safety products and services and to develop safety related training
programs for facilities. Voting is limited to participating members of
the GRRP program. The committee is currently chaired by Carol Ann
Andrews of Alderwood Park Convalescent Center and staffed by Diana Hitchings.
Member Services Committee meets on an as-needed basis and focuses
on developing member services programs for WHCA. This committee is
currently chaired by Carol Ann Andrews, administrator at Alderwood Park
Convalescent Center and staffed by Diana Hitchings.
Public Policy Committee meets on an as-needed basis and focuses
on public policy development for WHCA. The committee is currently
chaired by Randall Hyatt of Hyatt Family Facilities and is staffed by Lauri
St. Ours and Rich Miller.
Quality Improvement Committee meets quarterly or more often as needed
and promotes the nationally-acclaimed Quality First program sponsored by
our national affiliates, American Health Care Association and the
National Center for Assisted Living. The committee is chaired by Mary Dever, and staffed by Vicki Anensen-McNealley.
Skilled Nursing Facility Reimbursement Committee meets as needed
and focuses on cost reimbursement for skilled nursing facilities in
Washington. The committee works together to promote legislation and
policy change for better funding in long-term care. The committee is
currently co-chaired by Larry Chinn of Evergreen Living Centers and Tim Lehner of Avamere Health Services, and is staffed by
Lauri St. Ours and Rich Miller.
WHCA-PAC meets on an as-needed basis and focuses on legislative
and political activities for the association. The WHCA-PAC Board is made
up of representatives from each chapter, the Policy Committee Chair, the
WHCA Chair, a Multi-facility Constituency Representative, a Member-at-
Large and an Associate Business Representative, however, guests are
welcome to attend meetings and be part of the discussion. Voting is
limited to members of the WHCA-PAC Board. The WHCA-PAC is co-chaired by
Jerry Tretwold, Owner/Administrator of Harmony House and Roger Moore of Regency Auburn, and is staffed by Juanita Taurman.
Women in LTC Leadership Committee works to create professional development and mentoring programs for professionals in long term care looking to grow into leadership roles. This committee meets on an as-needed basis to design programs, resources, networking opportunities and educational events specifically for developing leadership characteristics and abilities in long term care professionals. This committee is co-chaired by Lisa Evans of ManorCare Lynnwood and Karen Hyatt of Hyatt Management Corporation and is staffed by Lauri St. Ours.
